GPTT’s Joint Webinar with IUB on Bangladesh’s Color Revolution

On October 7, the International Department of the Sharif Governance and Policy Think Tank (GPTT), in collaboration with the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), hosted a webinar titled “Bangladesh’s Color Revolution: A Multi-Faceted Evaluation.”

Dr. Imtiaz Hussain: Director of the Center for Social Science Research
Dr. Marufa Akter: Dean of the School of Global Studies and Governance
Dr. Shanawaz Hussain: Professor at the School of Global Studies and Governance
Dr. Mohammad Ohidujjaman: Professor at the School of Global Studies and Governance
Dr. Sultana Razia: Professor at the School of Sociology

The discussion revolved around the political unrest in Bangladesh, leading to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5, following violent protests. Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the nation’s first president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has led the country for over 20 years. Panelists examined the underlying causes of the protests, potential foreign interventions, and the future trajectory of Bangladesh. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, allowing attendees to engage with the experts on these pressing issues.
