China, the Indian subcontinent and other countries of East and South Asia have been studied by GPTT for a long time, and therefore, close cooperation with the oldest and most important Chinese study center in Russia could provide a basis for sharing Iranian and Russian views on Asian countries, especially China.
In the meeting of the International Director of the GPTT from the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS), it was proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which was finalized with Dr. Babaev Kirill Vladimirovich, Director of ICCA.
Founded in 1966, ICCA RAS – formerly known as the Institute of Far Eastern Studies – has long been a leader in Russian Sinology and the study of contemporary Asia. The institute is renowned for its comprehensive research on the politics, economics, social processes, culture, and recent history of countries such as China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. The Institute actively cooperates with scientific and educational institutions throughout Asia, Europe, and America, contributing to Russia’s strategic understanding of modern Asia.
On the other hand, GPTT also has very close relations with its counterparts in the research centers of China and India, which can be the basis for constructive multilateral discussions in the future.
