A New Era for GPTT: Professor Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi Appointed Chairman of the Governance and Policy Think Tank

Professor Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, a distinguished professor at Sharif University of Technology and former vice president for science and technology, has been appointed as the new president of the GPTT following a decision by the Policy Council.
The appointment was announced during a meeting attended by key members of the Policy Council, including Dr. Mousavi, current president of Sharif University; Dr. Sohrabpour, former president of Sharif University; Hojatoleslam Qomi, chairman of the founding board of the Institute and head of the Islamic Development Organization; Dr. Dehnavi, head of the Evaluation and Monitoring Center and spokesperson for the Expediency Discernment Council; Dr. Mostafa Zamanian, former head of Presidential Center for Strategic Studies; and Dr. Khayatiyan, head of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund.
In his inaugural remarks, Professor Dehghani underscored the credibility of the Institute, stating, “During my time in government, I witnessed firsthand the reputation and trustworthiness of the policy recommendations put forth by the GPTT.”
Dr. Roosta-Azad, the late former president of Sharif University of Technology, led the Governance and Policy Think Tank until 2022, leaving a significant legacy for his successor to build upon.

Professor Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, has published over 90 journal articles. In recognition of his contributions to education, he was honored as the Distinguished Educational Professor of the Department of Aerospace Engineering for the 2010-2011 academic year. Additionally, Professor Dehghani served as the Deputy President for Science and Technology during President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration.
